Precognition: Exercise #1

Precognition Exercise #1

Precognition is the psychic ability that deals with knowing the future. A precognition test is an exercise that can be repeated multiple times that gauges a persons precognitive abilities. Some people believe the definition to be "seeing" the future but that term is somewhat confusing because for many people, precognitive abilities do not have anything to do with seeing. Rather they simply "know" instead of see.

For the purposes of this site, we believe that even if you "see" the future you still know it, however knowing does not always involve "seeing", so we define the term as knowing the future and our precognition test involves knowing the outcome of the roll of a die, before the roll is made.

The following precognition exercise is designed to be done by one or two people. Instructions for both forms are included on this page. The only tools you will need is a single die (dice) and pen and paper to track results.

Precognition Goal: Know the outcome of the die before it is tossed.

Instructions for one person testing:

Prepare your score sheet by numbering 1 through 25 in a straight line down the paper. Each trial of the test should be composed of 25 sets only. If you do not have time to complete the entire 25 sets, it is best to wait till a better time to complete a trial.

Using your senses, determine what you believe the outcome of the first die toss will be and mark your answer on your paper under number 1.

Toss the die without attempting to influence the outcome of the roll (that would be using telekinesis or psychokinesis), simply allow the die to fall as it may.

Record the outcome of the toss next to your original prediction.

Repeat the above directions until the entire 25 sets have been completed.

Scoring:

Scoring should be completed after the full 25 sets of the precognitive test is complete rather than after each die toss. This will keep your mind focused where it needs to be instead of worrying about results.

Mark each set as correct or incorrect. I usually mark a check mark for the ones correct and leave the others alone so it is easy to tally.

Pure chance would show a score of 4 to 5 correct out of the 25 sets. A score of 8 to 10 correct show a possibility of precognitive abilities. A score of 16 or above would show a tremendous possibility of precognitive abilities.

It is important to note that a single set of 25 trials is not enough to claim precognitive abilities. It is entirely possible to score well above average on an specific trial. If however after 100 or more trials of 25 sets, you are still showing tremendously above chance you can safely claim you have strong precognitive abilities.

Instructions for two person testing:

Doing your trial sets with a friend can make this a lot more fun. After all, lets face it, throwing a die hundreds of times can get boring after a while.

When you have a partner, one person should keep score as the other person physically takes the test. This allows the test taker to concentrate on their ability rather than worrying about what their score is.

The trial should still consist of 25 sets. After a trial is complete, you and your friend can switch places and you can keep score while your friend tests.

Everything else is still the same. You will need multiple trials over a period of time to be able to claim precognitive abilities with any certainty.

A last note when testing with two people. If Jane and Mike work together today and test each other, then Jane works with Tammy tomorrow, Jane should not mix the results of scores with the two different people. Keep a running total of each time she works with Mike and each time she works with Tammy.

The entire field of psychic abilities is still very much in its infancy and we do not know yet if the abilities work better between some people than with others. If you tend to always score better with one person than with others, there are several things that need to be investigated to determine exactly what is happening, but you will never know it if you do not keep the score tally separate.
